It looks like Pokemon Go might be adding second generation monsters on Thursday, December 8, according to a handful of Starbucks employee leaks that have surfaced online.
The news hasn’t been verified by Niantic, Starbucks or the official Pokemon Company but folks on Reddit are claiming that leaked images confirm a long-awaiting feature for the game along with a PokeStop sponsorship with Starbucks. Earlier this year, Niantic, the company behind the mobile gaming application, began partnering with McDonald’s restaurants in Japan.
This could prove to be a crucial moment for the mobile app after struggling to keep its users playing the game.
Still, Forbes reports that the game is generating roughly $3 million each day and is still one of the most popular mobile apps.
If the rumors hold true, it’s unclear if players outside the US will also be able to catch the new Pokemon, which originally debuted in the Gold and Silver games back in 2000.
