It was announced earlier today that this weekend’s Oktoberfest London at Tobacco Dock has been cancelled after ‘operational issues’ on its opening night.
Thousands of Londoners are currently seeking refunds for tickets, but for any of them looking out for a similar (but better organised) beer festival then there is good news: Oktober Feast is coming.
Run by Big Eater – the people behind Chilli Chilli Bang Bang, Ribstock, Ginstock, National Burger Day and more – it will run on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October at Street Feast’s new Hawker House indoor market in Canada Water.
It will bring together more than 40 beers from Germany, Britain and beyond, live music and a host of street food.
Tickets start from £15 a head including a pint of beer in a reusable stein.
Alternatively, a £40 ticket for two people will get you into the England v Germany World Cup Final of Beer. You’ll each get a stein to kick things off as well as tokens for 20 ¼ pint beers, to be chosen from an 11-a-side lineup of brews which showcase the varying styles of each nation.
Stomach lining sustenance with a German flavour comes in the form of a one-off Bavaria Burger special from Bleecker St, currywurst from butchers Turner & George, schnitzel buns from Spit & Roast, and whole pork knuckles from Smoketak – along with other street food options.
Tickets are on sale now at bigeater.co.uk/oktoberfeast.
