The unnamed man is being held after police carried out a “welfare check” at the property in Crowborough.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a female relative was found dead at a house in East Sussex.
Police had attended the property in Crowborough on Friday evening to make a welfare check.
A 22-year-old man, who has not been named, was arrested and remains in police custody.
His relationship to the unnamed woman, whose age has not been released by police, is unclear.
Local media has photographed police outside a house in Lordswell Lane, Crowborough, but the road where the woman was found has not been confirmed.
A police spokesman said: “Police have arrested a man after finding the body of a woman in a house in Crowborough on Friday 27 April.
“Officers attended the property at 7.20pm in response for a request for a welfare check.
“Upon speaking to a 22-year-old male at the address, a search of the property was made and the deceased woman, a relation of the man, was found inside.
