A car passenger has died in a crash involving a lorry which has closed part of the M6 northbound in Warwickshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said the accident caused the truck to overturn between junction 4 for Coleshill and 4A at about 04:55 BST.
The two drivers were taken to hospital following the collision.
The car passenger suffered multiple serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
Fractured ribs
The northbound carriageway has been closed between the two junctions and the road is expected to reopen from 14:00 BST, the Highways Agency said.
A man reported to be in his 30s, who was driving the car, freed himself from the vehicle and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The lorry driver, believed to be in his 50s, is being treated in hospital for suspected fractured ribs.
Central Motorway Police Group urged drivers to “avoid the area”.
