London style hotspot: One Canada Square Restaurant and Bar, E14
David Collins Studios fuse decades to create a decadent but welcoming Canary Wharf restaurant and bar that fits the bill for a post work dinner
The look: The lobby of the César Pelli-designed One Canada Square tower building is a grand and glamorous destination. Racing green, red leathers and Verde Imperial marble are merged with dark wood. Furnishings inspired by vintage car designs, floating staircases and the exposed steel grid of the ceiling fuse decades and contribute to the decadence.
Who’s behind it: David Collins Studio, who were keen to create a high-end restaurant that is welcoming to all, sitting neatly with the grand marble entrance of the imposing building.
Lobby location: the marble blends with the building’s surroundings
What should I try: The Brixham monkfish or lemon sole are good fish options or for something hearty ask about the One Canada Square pie which changes daily. The white chocolate and pistachio brownie with popcorn is a sweet treat.
Go there if: You are looking for smart setting for post work drinks and dinner or a sophisticated lunch.
Vintage vibe: retro chairs are inspired by cars
Cheque out: Expect to pay from £60 for a three course meal and a drink.
