If you like the idea of tucking into alphabet spaghetti and fish fingers in a school hall then this latest pop-up to arrive in Hackney might be for you – but you’ll need more than a bit of dinner money to pay for it.
The After School Club is the latest immersive pop-up from foodie collective The Art of Dining, who previously brought us restaurants themed around camping trips and vintage dinner parties.
It will take over Clapton’s Round Chapel Old School Rooms just off Lower Clapton Road from July 22 to August 6, transforming the space into a school dining hall and serving five courses of ‘posh school dinners’.
The experience, which includes immersive theatre elements, doesn’t come cheap – tickets cost £55 a pop.
For this punters can expect one cocktail to wash their food down (more drinks will be able to be bought), music and an art class along with something we’d never normally choose to pay for – homework.
Menus and exact details are under wraps, but we can confirm that wearing a school uniform won’t be mandatory and that there will be bike sheds not too far away for anyone who smokes.
